South Peachtree Creek Trail

Ranking: Easy Pie

Let's take it back to when I lived in one of Atlanta's neighborhoods: Decatur, Georgia. Although my time living there was short, I enjoyed exploring on my off days. From Saturday markets to ordering in, this city has so many options whether you're a homebody or not.

As we all know at this point, I love exploring the outdoors. I often would research hiking spots in the north mountains or in other states. On a random Saturday though, I wanted to do something but didn't want to commit to a long drive. That's when I got the idea to look into parks that were in my neighborhood. Now I'm not sure why I hadn't done it before, but I'm glad I started to look into it. I was able to find so many trails and paths close to home!

One of these trails was the South Peachtree Creek Trail right around the corner from my old spot. I try not to look into trails too much so I have an element of surprise but I did look up the layout for parking.

This trail has several different starting points, so it's up to you where you begin. Along the way are different options for where you would like to go which feeds into other trails. The trail is easy in itself, it is paved and relatively flat throughout. From memory this trail is accessible and I saw quite a few families with strollers out during my visit.

I would recommend you spray down with some bug spray if you are visiting during the summer months. This trail has a lot of foliage and the bugs are galore!

All in all this trail was lovely and a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of the nearby motorways. This trail is in a residential area of Decatur so it won't be as busy as a place like the Beltline in downtown Atlanta. So if you are looking for something more on the quieter side in the city, then definitely check this place out!
